Global Citizen Festival
“Right now 62 million girls are not in school… they deserve the same chances to get an education as my daughters and your daughters and all of our children,” – First Lady Michelle Obama
We couldn’t agree with the first lady more. When she spoke at the Global Citizen Festival, dubbed a “party with purpose” we certainly felt like standing up and cheering. The Global Citizen organization says we are not a generation of bystanders- and they stood by that motto. So how did people get into this star-studded event? By taking part in the “action journey” with The Global Poverty Project. Their goals are to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030, raise awareness by climate change, and advance educational resources for women. We can’t think of a better cause or a better way to raise awareness for such important issues. As it turn out, we can make a difference when we work together.
Our favorite moment from the night? Pearl Jam & Beyonce singing “Redemption Song” in the most epic of duets. Enjoy!
