We are SO excited to announce our new blog series #2PennyxTailored in collaboration with our friends at Tailored for Education! As you know by now, for each jacket sold, Two Penny Blue donates a school uniform to a girl in need. This increases her self esteem and opens the door to her education. We partner with Tailored for Education to provide locally-made uniforms and an opportunity to create a better life. Collectively we believe that every child has the right to receive an education and a lack of uniform should not stand in their way.
For our project #2PennyxTailored, we teamed up with Tailored for Education and Akili Girls Preparatory School. We sent disposable cameras to a 2nd grade class and asked them to capture moments of their daily life, fill out a survey and share their thoughts on the world. They snapped the cutest photos of their school, friends and silly faces. It’s so great to see the impact we are having on these incredible girls who receive our uniforms!
In the coming weeks, we will be highlighting special girls in the #2PennyxTailored series – we cannot wait to share!
Pictured below are images of all of the amazing and inspiring young women we will be highlighting from the 2nd grade class at Akili Girls Preparatory School in Kisumu, Kenya.
